Family Support Worker

Salary: £24,000 p.a.
Hours: 35 Hours per week
Responsible To: Operations Manager
Fixed Term Contract until: December 2020 (with a strong likelihood of extension after this time)

Objective of Post

To provide support to families on a wide variety of issues. Working closely with teachers, colleagues and other agencies to help understand children’s needs as well as those of parents/carers. Providing high quality services to support children and their families.
To be the main point of contact and provide the coordination of Positive Futures Targeted Support Service.

Some duties will include

  • To engage and build good working relationships with parents, children and colleagues working in schools and other agencies.
  • To work holistically and effectively with parents/carers in ways that will improve their children’s well-being.
  • To work effectively and cooperatively with partner agencies using common processes including Early Help Assessment, Team Around the Family (TAF) and Lead Professional (LP) roles.

Sessional Youth Development Worker

Salary: £9 per hour. 1.50 per hour enhancement for Detached work and Leader role
Hours: Range of hour available
Responsible To: Youth Development Worker

Objective of Post

To work as a Detached and Centre based Youth Development Worker, on the streets or inhouse. Supporting or leading the Delivery of a wide range of stimulating and creative programmes. This is to enable children and young people aged 8-24 years access the widest possible variety of activities in their own community.

Some duties will include

  • Work with children and young people in a detached and centre based environment, to plan and deliver activities and events in their area.
  • Work creatively with young people encouraging them to express their views and take control of their projects.
  • Administration of paperwork following activities, to include sessions plans, registers, monitoring and evaluation sheets. To be returned to the Youth Development Worker.
  • Organise group activities.
