Here at Positive Futures, we can see first-hand that development for young people doesn’t stop when they leave through the school gates. 85% of a young person’s time is spent out of the classroom, time that can either open further doors or create barriers for young people, depending on the opportunities available.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Garfield Weston Foundation for their generous support. Partnerships like this are vital in enabling us to deliver our work and respond to the realities young people face beyond the school day. For many, school holidays can mean a loss of structure, support, and safe spaces. This funding allows us to extend our provision, ensuring that young people continue to feel supported, engaged, and able to thrive all year round.”
Our holiday provision has always played a crucial role in giving young people a safe place to go, positive activities to take part in, and trusted adults to turn to. However, as our demand continues to grow, the need for consistent, year-round support has never been greater.
Thanks to funding from the Garfield Weston Foundation, we are now able to further strengthen and expand our holiday provision, ensuring young people can access support throughout every school holiday across the year.
This funding means more opportunities, more sessions, and more consistency for young people and families during a time where it is needed most.
Most importantly, it means young people have somewhere to go, something to do, and someone to talk to.
We’re incredibly grateful to the Garfield Weston Foundation for their trust and investment in our work, and we’re excited about what this will mean for the future.
