This funding will help us continue delivering intensive 1-to-1 mentoring and advocacy for young people across Liverpool, Sefton and Knowsley who are navigating trauma, exclusion, and care instability.
Over the past year alone, our team delivered hundreds of 1-to-1 support sessions, providing consistent relationships and trusted guidance to young people facing significant challenges. This funding will ensure we can continue offering meaningful, person-centred support at a time when demand for these services continues to grow.
The grant will help secure the immediate future of our Mentoring Support Service by funding vital team capacity, enabling us to maintain manageable caseloads, reduce waiting times, and continue investing in staff development around emerging needs such as neurodiversity and exploitation risk.
It will also support practical resources that help young people stay engaged with support, including:
Most importantly, this funding gives us the stability to focus on long-term impact. Our aim is always to help young people build independence, confidence and resilience, empowering them to regulate emotions, make positive choices, navigate education and care systems, and shape brighter futures for themselves.
We are incredibly grateful to The Henry Smith Foundation for recognising the importance of early intervention, trusted relationships, and long-term support for young people in our communities.
Their support will make a meaningful difference to the lives of the young people we work alongside every day.
