Case Study | Empowering Families Through Neurodiversity Support

We recently partnered with a family navigating the complexities of neurodiversity, aiming to build on their existing strengths and deepen their understanding of their child’s unique needs. The parents were committed to creating a nurturing and structured home environment but were seeking guidance on how to implement consistent boundaries and routines that supported their child’s development.

Through a series of seven tailored support sessions, we worked collaboratively with the parents to:

Each session focused on practical tools such as choices and consequences, routine-building, and boundary-setting, while also providing space for emotional reflection and growth. Regular check-ins ensured continuity and allowed us to celebrate progress together.

We also connected the family with specialist services including Family Help, SENDIASS, and the ADHD Foundation, expanding their support network and access to expert resources.

Impact

This strengths-based intervention led to meaningful improvements in family wellbeing:

“Thank you for making us a happier family again! Positive Futures took the time to listen to us. Thank you for being so supportive and giving me all the advice and guidance I needed. Thank you for making time for me, you helped us all through what was a really difficult time when we felt lost.” Young Person’s Parent

This case highlights the power of empathetic, strengths-focused support in unlocking family potential and fostering lasting positive change.
