I wanted to write to you personally to share an important update about Positive Futures. Over the coming weeks, you will see some changes to our team and how we deliver our programme.
First of all, some youth workers who have built strong relationships with young people and families will be moving on. This includes Brogan, Ellie and Lee, and I want to take a moment to recognise and thank them for the care, time and commitment they have given. We wish them all the very best in their new roles and future careers. I know how important those relationships are.
At Positive Futures, trust and consistency really matter, and we are taking this transition seriously to make sure every young person continues to feel safe, supported and known.

Over the past year, we have seen a growing need for support from young people and families. We have taken time to reflect on how we can:
• Offer more consistent support
• Reach more young people
• Create clearer opportunities for the future
As part of this, we are strengthening our approach to ensure young people are supported not only through open access sessions, but also through opportunities that help them grow and develop over time.
We are also continuing to invest in our team. All youth workers will either be qualified, or working towards recognised youth work qualifications. This is about making sure young people receive consistent, high-quality support from skilled and experienced staff.

We will be closing for one week after Easter to prepare for the next phase of Positive Futures. During that week, we will be inviting young people and parents in to:
• Meet the new team
• Learn about the new programme
• Ask questions and spend time together
• Sign up as a member on our new system
• Join our WhatsApp group to stay up to date
We will also create space for young people to say thank you to youth workers who are moving on. Our new exciting programme will then launch the following week.

• More opportunities to take part in activities and support
• Open sessions alongside more focused support where needed
• Stronger, joined-up support through local partnerships
• A new Community Partnership Lead (Derrin) connecting young people, families and the wider community
• Support will continue
• We remain a safe and trusted space

We are really proud of what has been built at Positive Futures, and these changes are about building on that—creating more opportunities, strengthening our team, and making sure we can support even more young people to thrive.
We will continue to work closely with young people, parents and partners to shape what we do next, making sure our support reflects what is really needed in our community.

Warm regards,

When we return following our Shutdown week, we will return with this amazing programme, full of different activities for a range of different young people!
MONDAYSStart the week getting active and having fun with sport in a supportive environment. Delivered in partnership with Sports Alive, these sessions give young people the chance to try a variety of activities led by experienced and engaging coaches. Whether learning new skills or developing existing ones, everyone is encouraged to get involved, stay active and challenge themselves. Alongside the physical benefits, sessions promote teamwork, resilience and positive attitudes, helping young people grow in confidence while enjoying sport as part of a consistent weekly programme.

Tuesday is all about growth, confidence and stepping into leadership. Our Young Leaders programme gives young people the opportunity to develop real skills in teamwork, communication and responsibility, while exploring pathways into youth work and volunteering. Through a mix of practical challenges, group activities and hands-on experiences, participants build confidence and learn what it means to support others.
WEDNESDAYSWellbeing Wednesdays focus on creating a safe, supportive space where young people can reflect, connect and build emotional resilience. Working closely with our mentoring team, this day brings together young people who receive 1:1 support for group-based sessions that encourage open conversation, trust and peer connection. Through guided activities and discussions, participants develop coping strategies, improve self-awareness and strengthen their overall wellbeing. This session is available on referral only

Thursdays and Fridays build on the energy of our youth sessions, offering a welcoming space where young people can connect, take part and continue to grow. These sessions blend familiar activities with more structured opportunities that encourage participation, creativity and personal development. Whether it’s through group challenges, informal learning or simply spending time in a positive environment, young people are supported to build confidence, strengthen friendships and develop important life skills.

Building on existing relationships and strong foundations, this approach introduces fresh ideas and renewed energy, while maintaining a consistent and positive environment.
Young people are supported to develop confidence, build meaningful connections and explore new opportunities, all within a setting that encourages growth, participation and long-term development.

Alternatively, please fill in the form HERE, and we can try to get back to you as soon as we can.
