CASE STUDY | Young person finds it difficult to verbally communicate with new people and needed confidence
Reason for referral
CAMHS reported that the YP has a diagnosis of Autism and Epilepsy and finds it difficult to verbally communicate with new people. CAMHS stated that as a result of our intervention they would like the young person to be able to gain confidence and skills around communication.

Outcomes
As a result of the intervention, YP felt happy that they had pushed themselves out of their comfort zone and attended the activities.
YP stated that their initial scoring of a 2/10 for their Goal based outcomes had increased to a 7/10 by the end of the intervention.
Impact
YP stated that they enjoyed taking part in the activities and appreciated the opportunity to meet new people and found it useful to try new activities and push themselves out of their comfort zone.
YP is also continuing with their DJ lessons which they have noted are part of a positive routine they have built around social activities. YP feels they have been given the opportunity to build and enhance their social skills.
