CASE STUDY | Struggling with school and emotions, YP with Autism Spectrum Disorder

YP has ASD and is really struggling with the social and environmental demands of the school environment.  He is ‘easily wound up’ and therefore a target for other children.  He feels misunderstood by adults and peers.  He gets very anxious in unfamiliar environments.  His school attendance is poor.  YP has significant difficulties with sleep. 

The Intervention

YP wanted to gain confidence, engage in activities outside of the house, and possibly make new friends.

Outcomes

Young person now feels more comfortable speaking to their parent/grandmother about issues affecting him.
