About this service
What is Detached Youth Work?
Detached Youth Work is all about meeting young people in their own spaces. Every week, our team works across communities in North Liverpool, engaging with young people where they spend their time and providing support in a way that feels accessible and approachable.
We understand that not every young person is ready to walk through the doors of a youth centre or support service. By taking our work directly into local communities, we can build relationships, offer guidance, and help young people access the support they need.
Whether it’s providing advice, signposting to specialist services, or simply being a trusted adult to talk to, our Youth Development Workers are there to listen and help.
Many of the young people we meet through Detached Youth Work go on to access other Positive Futures services, including mentoring, targeted interventions, and open access youth sessions.
Last year alone, our team spent over 336 hours delivering Detached Youth Work out in the community, supporting young people where they are.
