Earlier this week, Positive Futures was presented with a cheque for £4,252.50 from Liverpool Crown Court and the Merseyside Police as part of their ‘Operation Payback’ initiative – a scheme that aims to support local charities through the donation of money seized from drug dealers in the area.
Sergeant Paul Dorran attended our youth centre to personally deliver the cheque, and he was given a tour of our facilities. Of our organisation, Paul said: “The charity serves as a vital lifeline for young people who are often side-lined due to challenging circumstances, providing them with the resources and support necessary to foster personal and professional growth. Regular referrals from schools, social services, and police teams allow Positive Futures to connect with youth who would greatly benefit from their programs and services.”
“Positive Futures focuses on building connections, not only among the young people they serve but also with community partners who are invested in the development of the next generation. This collaborative spirit is vital for fostering a sense of belonging, and ensuring that young people from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds are safeguarded and have access to opportunities for growth and advancement.”

These funds will go towards the betterment of our young people’s lives, and will ensure that we can continue to provide as good a service to them as we possibly can.
Karen, our Operations Manager, expressed our shared appreciation, saying: “The generous donation of £4,242.50 will go a long way in enhancing our programs and reaching more young people in need. With these resources, we can continue to provide the support and guidance that empowers our youth to realise their potential.”
We are extremely grateful to have been selected to be a part of this great initiative, and we hope the scheme can continue to help and support fellow charities within our city well into the future.
